Kartell Ami Ami Chair

The Ami Ami chair was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for Kartell in Italy. Inspired by the play of wrap and weft in woven fabric, Tokujin Yoshioka wanted to use this stylistic symbol typical of his culture, weaving , and thus creating it in the Ami Ami chair whose name in Japanese literally means "weave".

The simple squared off lines contrast with the rich texture of the weaving reproduced on the inner and outer surfaces through a complex industrial process recreating the motif with a single mold. Ami Ami combines the appeal of oriental culture with the use of innovative materials like polycarbonate and comes in two transparent clear and smoked versions and three matte versions of white, red and black. The Ami Ami seat matches the table with a square polycarbonate top measuring 70x70(cms) covered by the weaving motif and painted aluminum legs.

Kartell Dune Tray

The Dune tray was designed by Mario Bellini for Kartell in Italy. Kartell's innovative design transforms even a simple piece like a tray to something extra ordinary. What good is a tray if it doesn't say something to the viewer, to the person examining it, using it? Who is going to remember it? What good is a tray if it's only good for carrying things?

The semi transparent polycarbonate of these trays sculpted from within varies in chromatic intensity and luminosity and projects a magical three-dimensional illusion onto the surface holding glasses and cups. Images fluctuate and flow in these trays. Like mountain torrents, rivers of lava, fiery flames. Animated images of the caprices of wind and light. Like the waves on the sea, desert dunes or the shimmering reflections of silk. These rainbow-colored trays are the first born of a family of small objects. Invented and designed to delight you with unexpected emotions.

Like Mr. Impossible, the small armchair is formed of two laser welded polycarbonate shells.

The Bloom pendant lamp was designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell in Italy. A Lamp as valuable as Murano glass, as irreverent as a rock opera. Bloom blossoms forth in a scintillating and lavish cascade of crystalline flowers.

Bloom is composed of a polycarbonate tubular framework entirely encrusted with tiny double corolla transparent polycarbonate flowers. The result is an industrially produced lamp with the form and stylistic complexities of the unique hand-made artifact. Bloom comes in an original hanging version, a cylindrical version suggestive of the silhouette of an hour glass figure. There are three single colors for this lamp: total transparency and opaque white for a refined ethereal effect, plus a sexy pink and black mix. A series of bulbs positioned along the internal framework diffuses beams of light through the petals and reflects off the faceted surfaces radiating a thousand reflections. A new way of interpreting the traditional lamp with that special added touch. Veritable work of art that furnish and fill a room all on its own, creating an atmosphere of sparkling splendor.
